Gnathology services — a comprehensive approach to maxillofacial problems
Jaw pain, clicking, morning headaches, or clenched teeth? At Dynasty Stomatology dental clinic, a consultation with a gnathologist offers gentle TMJ treatment, a clear diagnosis, and a personalized plan to restore jaw function and comfort without pain.
Our dental clinic offers full gnathological diagnostics in one place, including tomography, scans, and functional tests. This helps find the root cause of jaw pain, TMJ dysfunction, and bruxism starting from the first consultation with a gnathologist.
Individualized treatment plan for jaw and bite
Your gnathologist creates a personalized treatment plan based on specific gnathological diagnostics. This plan includes occlusion correction and TMJ splint therapy. This approach restores jaw function and reduces muscle tension.
Gnathologist and orthodontist — one doctor
Our gnathologist collaborates with an orthodontist to provide precise bite correction and reliable jaw rehabilitation. This combined approach guarantees effective treatment of jaw issues without pain.
Gnathology is a branch of dentistry that studies the jaw and bite
Gnathology is a part of dentistry that looks at how the jaw, bite, and temporomandibular joint work. If you have jaw pain, clicking, morning headaches, or enamel wear, talking to a gnathologist can help. Through gnathological diagnostics and TMJ treatment, we find the main issue, return the mandible to its correct position, and improve joint function without pain.
Not sure if you need a gnathologist consultation?
If you have jaw pain or clicking when you chew, morning headaches, nighttime grinding, enamel wear, trouble opening your mouth wide, or tension in your jaw muscles, a gnathology consultation can help. Our dental clinic uses gnathological diagnostics and TMJ treatment to find the root cause. We then create a personalized treatment plan for temporomandibular joint pain and jaw discomfort.

Step 03
Step 04
Step 05
Step 01
01
Step 1 —
Consultation with a gnathologist and initial exam
During your first consultation with a gnathologist, the doctor will listen to your concerns about jaw discomfort or pain. They will check your bite and perform TMJ palpation. This step is important to understand the history of your issue and create an initial diagnostic plan.
Step 02
02
Step 2 —
Comprehensive gnathological diagnostics
To find the root cause, we use specialized gnathological diagnostics. This often involves modern imaging techniques such as a CT scan of the temporomandibular joints and cephalometry, along with functional tests. This helps us clearly establish the functional position of the mandible and address the issue.
Step 03
03
Step 3 —
Developing an individualized treatment plan
Based on the complete diagnostic data, your gnathologist creates a detailed gnathological treatment plan. This plan may include occlusion correction, splint therapy to relieve muscle tension, or other gnathological correction methods. We aim for a thorough approach to treatment, often working with an orthodontist or orthopedic specialist.
Step 04
04
Step 4 —
Treatment implementation (TMJ splint therapy and correction)
This is the active phase where we begin to restore the correct position of the jaw. Treatment often starts with TMJ splint therapy, which involves wearing a custom splint. This helps relieve strain on the chewing muscles and prepares the joint for final stabilization. We keep track of your progress to make sure the treatment improves your joint function without pain.
Step 05
05
Step 5 —
Final restoration (bite correction and oral rehabilitation)
Once the jaw joint is stabilized and muscle tension is reduced, the final phase involves permanent bite correction, such as orthodontics or prosthetic restorations like crowns, for long-term oral rehabilitation. This step ensures that the results of gnathological treatment are stable and restores your full ability to chew and speak comfortably. This also improves our patients’ quality of life.
Problem:
Comprehensive treatment was performed on tooth №25. First, endodontic treatment was carried out to preserve the vitality of the tooth, followed by the fabrication and placement of a post-core restoration to ensure reliable restoration of the internal structure. The final step was the installation of a zirconia crown, which not only restored functionality but also provided the tooth with a natural, aesthetic appearance.
Problem:
The patient presented with bleeding gums and an old bridge. Over 3 months, full treatment was done: retreatment of root canals, tooth restoration, and zirconia crowns — the gums are healthy, and the teeth look functional and aesthetic.
Problem:
Secondary caries was detected on teeth №6 and №7. Thorough treatment of the cavities was performed, followed by restoration using EsteLite photocomposite. The final step was polishing, which provided an aesthetic appearance and long-lasting functionality of the restoration.
Problem:
Caries of the distal wall and occlusal surface was detected on the tooth. A thorough treatment of the cavity was performed, followed by restoration using EsteLite photocomposite. The final step was polishing, which provided the restoration with a natural shine and smoothness.
Problem:
When fissure caries was detected, thorough treatment of the cavity was performed with the removal of all affected tissue. To restore the tooth, high-quality photocomposite EsteLite was used, allowing for an accurate reproduction of the natural color and texture of the enamel. The final step was polishing, which gave the restoration a natural shine and durability.
Problem:
The patient came with minor discomfort and discoloration of a front tooth. A hidden cavity was discovered and treated using Asteria A2B, ensuring an invisible, natural-looking restoration that fully restored function.
Problem:
The patient sought to enhance her smile due to uneven tooth color and unsatisfactory restorations. After Beyond whitening and replacement of restorations, the result was a natural, harmonious smile.
Problem:
The patient reported pain when chewing and sensitivity to temperature. A deep cavity was treated using a rubber dam and Asteria Estelite A2B material — restoring both the function and natural aesthetics of the tooth.
Problem:
The patient reported sensitivity and dark spots around previously restored front teeth. Secondary decay was treated, and the teeth were restored with Asteria Estelite A1B, NE, resulting in a natural look and complete relief from discomfort.
Problem:
The patient experienced pain and heaviness in a tooth, especially when eating. A deep cavity was found and treated using Asteria Estelite A2B and OcE — sensitivity disappeared, and the restoration looks completely natural.
Problem:
The patient reported pain after eating sweet and hot foods, tooth discoloration, and food getting stuck. Deep decay was treated under rubber dam isolation, and the tooth was restored with Asteria Estelite A1B and OcE, providing a natural look and full functionality.
Problem:
Following an injury, the patient presented with chipped front teeth and increased sensitivity. Restoration with Asteria Estelite A1B, NE fully restored the shape, function, and natural appearance of the teeth.
The Dynasty Stomatology team at Romanowicza 4B were incredibly welcoming from the moment I arrived. The receptionist was a clear and helpful communicator whose English was excellent, and my professional hygiene appointment with Anastasiia was the best I’ve had. She gave clear explanations throughout, anticipated my questions both before and after the procedure, and her genuine care for her patients’ dental health was evident in the guidance she provided. She also managed to make a 1.5-hour appointment completely free of discomfort. Today’s experience (the first of several appointments I’ve scheduled with Dynasty) gives me confidence in the decision to travel here for dental care.
Edit from follow-on appointments: No substantive change from my initial review, beyond even more positive thoughts. I should similarly point out how fantastic Michael (apologies for anglicized spelling) was, not only for his expertise in radiography, but his friendly willingness to help communicate with other dental professionals at the clinic (Dynasty serve many nationalities and have many polyglots on staff, but not everyone can speak everything!) when he wasn't busy operating their CT.
Most importantly of all, Dr. Rafal Kazanecki – he was not only fantastic in the clinic, but has been wonderful and very dedicated despite my not residing in Krakow, helping direct me in dental affairs remotely during a few-month window I've been unable to travel. Now a few months in, I feel that my initial confidence and positive view of the practice was well-placed, and look forward to being able to continue with Dr. Kazanecki at Dynasty.
I'm a client here for more than a year.
Here, I removed 3 wisdom teeth, was very affraid, but thanks to Dr. Kostyantyn Danyliuk, all 3 operations went painless, and successful, approached carefully and neatly!
Also huge thanks to Dr. Yana Tereschenko and her sweet assistant – who are true professionals fully dedicated to their jobs!
Girls on reception are always very welcoming,
higly recommend ♡
I’ve been a customer of this clinic for quite a while now. Very professional doctors, very good and friendly stuff. The most beneficial point is they open long hours everyday. Speaks: Polish, English and Ukrainian
A very pleasant dental clinic.
There are many doctors, including narrow specialists such as surgeons, and they have their own CT scanner.
The clinic was founded by Ukrainians, so in addition to Polish, Ukrainian and Russian are also spoken, which makes it more comfortable for people of Ukrainian origin.
Another plus is its convenient location close to the city center.

I thought that at my age herpes is already the norm, but the doctor explained how to control the disease and live without frequent rashes on the lips. After a course of treatment exacerbations stopped.
Perfect place and service! First of all I liked your hospitality, all questions were answered quickly and precisely thanks to office-manager Julia.
Secondly, treatment was excellent. I did not feel anything during the procedure. Dr. Rostislav checked to ensure that everything was fine and that I was not experiencing any discomfort.
Highly recommend

I had a supernumerary tooth, and it was transplanted to the area of missing teeth. It’s been six months — everything is stable, the tooth took well. Care is simple, the main thing is to be cautious in the first weeks and follow recommendations.

Gnathology is a branch of dentistry that studies the functioning of the temporomandibular joint, occlusion, and masticatory muscles.
What is TMJ splint therapy?
It’s a non-invasive treatment using a custom-made splint that relieves joint strain, stabilizes jaw position, and prevents bruxism.
Can gnathology improve chewing and speech?
Absolutely. By restoring the functional position of the mandible and the correct bite, patients regain full chewing function and clear articulation.
Gnathological diagnostics at Dynasty Stomatology
Accurate diagnosis is key to effective treatment. At our dental clinic in Krakow, gnathological diagnostics includes:
clinical examination of the jaw joint and bite;
tomography and CT scan of the temporomandibular joint;
masticatory muscle palpation;
digital occlusion analysis and functional position of the mandible assessment.
Based on the diagnostics, our gnathologist prepares a personalized treatment plan aimed to reduce muscle tension, restore correct jaw position, and eliminate the root cause of TMJ dysfunction.
How is gnathology related to chronic headaches?
Many chronic headaches and migraines are caused by the strain on the masticatory muscles due to a misaligned bite or TMJ dysfunction. Gnathology treatment focuses on establishing the correct position of the jaw and bite, which can significantly reduce or eliminate the problem.
Is it always necessary to wear splints for gnathological treatment?
Splint therapy (like an occlusal splint) is a very common and effective initial step in temporomandibular joint dysfunction treatment to reduce pain and find the functional position of the mandible. However, the long-term plan is individualized treatment and may or may not include continued splint wear, depending on the need for final bite correction.
How does gnathological treatment help with ear noise or congestion?
Ear noise or a feeling of congestion can often be linked to problems in the temporomandibular joint (TMJ). Through gnathological diagnostics, we identify jaw dysfunctions that may contribute to these symptoms. Complex gnathological treatment works to restore proper jaw function and relieve pressure on surrounding structures, including those affecting the ears. Gnathological correction can ease muscle tension and improve joint alignment, often leading to TMJ pain relief and a reduction in associated ear symptoms.
How does gnathological treatment affect dental health in the long term?
Gnathological treatment is more than just symptom relief; it focuses on prevention and balance. Addressing the root causes of TMJ disorders, bruxism, and bite misalignment helps protect your teeth from uneven wear and future damage. With a proper gnathological correction plan, patients often avoid more invasive treatments like multiple crowns or implants later. Early oral rehabilitation and jaw joint treatment lead to better stability, less dental trauma, and a healthier mouth overall.
Can gnathological treatment help with chronic headaches?
Yes. Many headaches are caused by TMJ dysfunction or improper bite. Correcting occlusion and reducing muscle tension often brings long-term relief.
How long does gnathological therapy take?
The duration varies greatly. The initial phase with a splint might take a few weeks to several months. The full complex gnathological treatment, including stabilization of the bite (e.g., with orthodontics or prosthetics), can take longer. Your gnathologist will outline the estimated time in your treatment plan.
When to consult a gnathologist?
You should schedule an appointment with a gnathologist if you experience:
jaw pain or clicking while chewing;
headaches, especially in the temple area;
difficulty opening your mouth wide;
bruxism (teeth grinding during sleep);
misaligned teeth or bite discomfort;
chronic temporomandibular joint pain.
Early and timely treatment can prevent further damage and restore normal jaw functioning.
Can bruxism be treated using a gnathological approach?
Yes, absolutely. Bruxism (teeth grinding) is a key indication for consultation with a gnathologist. Treatment often involves using a custom splint to relax the jaw muscles, protecting your teeth, and relieving tension.
Can facial asymmetry be corrected with gnathology?
While gnathology is not plastic surgery, in some cases, the visible asymmetry of the lower part of the face can be related to the incorrect position of the mandible. Restoring the correct, functional position of the jaw can sometimes lead to an improvement in facial symmetry.
How are gnathology and breathing problems connected?
Gnathology examines how the jaw, bite, and surrounding muscles work together. Improper occlusion, or bite alignment, can affect the position of the tongue and the opening of the airways. Gnathology dentists often find structural imbalances that may lead to snoring, mouth breathing, or sleep disturbances. By correcting occlusion and rehabilitating the jaw, we support natural nasal breathing and overall airway stability. This is especially effective when combined with TMJ therapy and TMJ splint therapy.
Can gnathological treatment be combined with orthodontic procedures?
Yes, combining gnathological treatment with orthodontic procedures is one of the most effective ways to achieve long-term results. While orthodontics focuses on aligning teeth, gnathological correction ensures that the bite and jaw joints work together properly. Our team often starts with a gnathology consultation to create a treatment plan that includes both TMJ physiotherapy and orthodontics, ensuring that aesthetic goals align with functional stability.
